Impersonate Users
Often times, users in your region will not be able to access specific features of the Schools.GrapeSEED website. Mainly, this is due to permission problems. As region admin, you can help resolve these issues by impersonating users.
User impersonation allows you to take on the guise of a different user and see what they see so you can assist them or grant the appropriate permission.
How to Enable Impersonation
Every GrapeSEED portal user has the option to allow user impersonation. To do so, simply click on your name in the top right hand corner and select Edit Profile from the drop down menu. From the 'My Profile' page, place a check mark beside Allow GrapeSEED Support Account Access to allow impersonation.
How to Impersonate Users
To impersonate a user, you must first find them. Click on Administration beside Help in the top menu bar. From the drop down menu, click on Users to open the 'Users' page. Enter the users name in the search field and click on Search
Once you found the user you would like to impersonate, click on their name on the 'Users' page to open the 'Edit User' page. If that user has enabled user impersonation, you will see a text that reads Login as user below their name. To impersonate the user, click on Login as user.
Once logged in, you will see everything that that user sees. You may easily toggle impersonation on and off. Below the top menu bar, you will see a banner that reads 'You have logged in as 'user'. Click Here to return to your own account'.
Impersonation works across all portals.
