Coach Support Events

Coach Support Events are an important part of professional development for GrapeSEED teachers. Support Events allow coaches to provide important feedback to GrapeSEED teachers regularly. This helps improve instruction overall and ensures teachers execute the GrapeSEED program effectively.

Lesson Video Analysis

Lesson Video Analyses (LVAs) allow your coach to observe, evaluate, and critique a video of one of your lessons. This will help them provide important feedback. The LVA flow ensures teachers are capable and can grow their skills as they gain more experience teaching the GrapeSEED program.

LVAs also allow you to ask your coach questions and address problems you may have while teaching GrapeSEED or a specific component. They also showcase their difficulty in their lesson video, and then send it to their coach for feedback.

LVA Flow

The LVA flow is broken up into the following 3 stages, made up of 5 tasks. You will see this visitation flow when you have active visitations from the Schools.GrapeSEED home page.

  • Teacher Support
    1. Pre-Visitation/LVA Email
    2. Support Questionnaire
  • Observation Stage
    1. Upload Video or Add Link to Video
  • Evaluation Stage
    1. Feedback From Coach
    2. Coaching Experience Survey

To open the support questionnaire, click on Support Questionnaire. This will open the 'Teacher Support' page. Here you may find two hidden menus below the visitation flow on the top of the page. Click on Last Support Feedback to read feedback from the previous visitation or LVA. Click on Message From Coach to view a message from your coach included when the visitation or LVA was scheduled.

Note: The questionnaire can also be opened directly from the email notification you received. However, if you are logged in as any user other than the teacher the notification was sent to you will see the Access Denied page.

Prep Stage

Pre Video Analyses Email

When a coach decides to schedule a visitation or lesson video analysis with you, your school's main contact will first receive an email.

This short email will provide a suggested date for the visitation. Once your school's main contact comes to an agreement on the visitation date, you will receive the 'Pre-visitation' form.

Pre Video Analyses Form

The 'Pre-visitation' form is a carefully organized document that allows coaches to gather important information about you before your visitation or lesson video analysis. The pre-visitation form contains feedback from your last visitation, alongside important questions about your current experience with the GrapeSEED program.

It is your responsibility to fill out this form and return it promptly. If you fails to send back your response, your coach may advance the visitation stage without them, resulting in less personalized feedback.

Ongoing Visit

You may access the pre-visitation form and add your responses easily from the home page of the Schools.GrapeSEED website. You will see the visitation flow below Ongoing Visit in the foreground. Click on Support Questionnaire to access the pre-visitation form and add your responses.

Observation Stage

Lesson Video Analysis

Lesson Video Analyses (LVAs) allow coaches to watch you perform in the classroom without being there physically. Once you have completed the pre-visitation form or your coach has advanced to the next stage in the visitation flow, you will have the option to upload your lesson videos for your coach to see.

You may access the option to upload videos easily in the visitation flow below Ongoing Visit on your Schools.GrapeSEED homepage. Click on Video Manager. When in the 'Video Manager' click on Upload on the far right side of the visitation flow. This will open a pop up window. From the pop up window, click on Class and select the class you are recording from the drop down menu.

You have two options, Video or Link. To upload your video directly to the Schools.GrapeSEED website, select Video. Below, a small box will appear that reads Click or drag file to this area to upload video. Click on there to upload your video.

For some users, uploading the video directly may be too time consuming due to their Internet connection strength. For these users, it may be easier to share a third party link of their video. To upload a link, select Link. This will create a form field called Link. Enter the URL of your third party link into this form field.

You may enter any notes you want to accompany your video in the Note field.

If you would like to add an attachment to your video, for whatever reason, click on Attachment below the Note field. This will allow you to upload and attach Word, PDF, and TXT files directly from the portal. You may only upload one attachment at a time.

Once uploaded, if you need to remove your attachment simply click on the X icon next to your attachment to delete it.

  • Attachment may be no larger than 100 Megabytes.
  • Attachment may only be uploaded and modified before the visitation is complete.
  • Lesson videos/links will only be available for coaches to view for 3 months. After 3 months, they will be deleted.

Once finished with the form and video upload, click OK to continue to the next stage. When your video uploads successfully your coach will be notified.

Evaluation Stage

Post-Support Form

The 'Post LVA form' allows coaches evaluate the teacher's performance during the lesson video, and provide feedback and advice based on your performance. The 'Post LVA form' will help you pinpoint areas of improvement in a respectful way that encourages growth.

Alongside coach feedback, the 'Post LVA form' will also contain School feedback, which is divided into two sections:

  • School Feedback
  • Training Manager/Admin Feedback

School Feedback is the recommendations and advice given to you during the visit, alongside feedback from your Training managers and Training admins.

How to Access the Post LVA Form

You may access the 'Post LVA form' by clicking on Feedback from the Coach below the 'Ongoing Visit' page. If the coach has sent feedback, you may find and view the feedback here.
