What's new in version 12.2 (October 2024)

GrapeSEED Student App v12.0.4

  • Activity Path: Improvements have been made to the Activity Path and Repeated Exposure and Practice (REP) features to enhance the user experience. These updates include adjustments to the pulsating effect algorithm, access to both current and previous units aligned with lesson plans and schedules, as well as the ability to view and replay 40 completed playlists from previous units.
  • Device Count Updates: The GrapeSEED Student App now accurately registers device usage and app installations.
  • Privacy Policy: Updated the privacy policy functionality and content for China users.
  • Bug Fixes and Compatibility Updates: Various bug fixes and updates have been implemented to improve app performance and compatibility.

LittleSEED Student App v1.0.4

  • Device Count Updates: The Little Student App now accurately registers device usage and app installations.

GrapeSEED Connect App v4.0.2

  • Zoom Options: Zoom options are now available in the student interface during Independent Mode, allowing students to comfortably view and engage with the content.
  • Text Alignment on the Whiteboard: Text written by teachers is now left-aligned by default.
  • Bug Fixes and Compatibility Updates: Various bug fixes and updates have been made to enhance app performance and compatibility.

GrapeSEED Nexus App v3.0.3

  • Future Classes: Teachers can now access future classes in GrapeSEED Nexus, in addition to their current active classes. This allows them to download and prepare for upcoming units up to two weeks before the class begins.
  • Practice Mode in GrapeSEED Nexus: Teachers can now use 'Practice Mode' for up to two weeks, even if no students are assigned to their Nexus classes.
  • Student English Names: Teachers can now view the English names of students during a Progress Check session.
  • Swipe Capability in Full-Screen Mode: A new swipe feature has been added to the GrapeSEED Nexus app in full-screen mode, enabling teachers to swipe through component cards instead of using the blue arrows.
  • Update on Casting GrapeSEED Nexus: The additional tool for casting GrapeSEED Nexus to Windows-based devices is now available under the updated name: GrapeSEED Nexus Casting.
  • Bug Fixes and Compatibility Updates: Various bug fixes and updates have been implemented to improve app performance and compatibility.

What's new in version 12.0 (April 2024)

GrapeSEED Student App

  • The application has evolved from the former GrapeSEED App v11 to a specialized platform tailored exclusively for GrapeSEED students aged 4-12 years old and their designated curriculum.
  • Introducing of the new Activity Path feature, that replaces the card-flipping experience while preserving all the functionalities of Repeated Exposure and Practice (REP Online). This offers children an interactive way to engage with designated playlists and content.
  • The Reader’s content components, along with Focus Word integration, are now accessible on both the GrapeSEED Student App and website for Units 11-20.
  • A new interaction model has been introduced for Jonny Bear AI Talk Time conversations, utilizing the push-to-talk feature in the microphone.
  • The new Playback Mode feature has been integrated into the Family Settings, offering two methods of accessing content: "Streaming from Internet" or "Downloading to the device.” Fresh content is now accessible in High Resolution for streaming and Low Resolution for download.
  • The "Download Manager" settings have been enhanced with additional features, offering users the flexibility to remove specific content and providing instant updates on the overall capacity downloaded on their device.
  • Access management has been elevated to exclusively permit authorized users with GrapeSEED curriculum access to utilize the application.
  • Historical data and information from the previous GrapeSEED App v11 will be retained and accessible through the new app for respective users and accounts.
  • Parents and users holding existing GrapeSEED App accounts can seamlessly access the new app without the necessity for account renewal.

LittleSEED Student App

  • The new application has evolved from the former GrapeSEED App v11 into a distinct and specialized platform exclusively for LittleSEED students aged 3 years old (36-48 months) and their designated curriculum.
  • The key features and functionalities of the former GrapeSEED App v11 have been retained in the new LittleSEED Student App.
  • User Interface (UI) Design: New UI elements and logo for the app are being introduced in alignment with the latest design, ensuring a visually appealing and modern interface.
  • The new Playback Mode feature has been integrated into the Family Settings, offering two methods of accessing content: "Streaming from Internet" or "Downloading to the device.” Fresh content is now accessible in High Resolution for streaming and Low Resolution for download.

  • An innovative casting approach that relies on a personal computer and the new Nexus Windows App utility. Casting preferences are set within Nexus App Settings, allowing users to choose between “Casting Provider” options: Chromecast or Window App.
  • Enhanced zooming options and font size adjustments for the teaching instructions
  • Enhanced alignment and visibility of teaching instructional bullet points.
  • The selected annotation tool now persists while the teacher engages in other app activities.
  • Next teaching component titles are displayed on-screen to keep the teacher informed.

Offline Sync Play History Status Details

The GrapeSEED App can be used offline. However, parents must sync the GrapeSEED App at least once per month in order to receive content and materials. This online sync is important because without it your child won't receive the right content for REP at home practice.

To check your Play History status, go to the Family Settings page. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Play History Status. This will open the 'Play History Status' page with the following details:

  • Current Device Status (Online/Offline)
  • Most Recent Play History Update (Sync) Date

If you haven't conducted a sync within the last month, click on Force Play History Upload at the top of the page to conduct a sync.

LittleSEED Library Details

Parents of LittleSEED students, may now access both video and audio content from the GrapeSEED student App and Student website. Previously, only video files were able to be played. Parents may now playback both video and audio LittleSEED content.

Enhanced Badge Earning Process Details

When students complete REP Playlists they earn badges and reward puzzle that encourage and support them as they learn. These badges will now flash on the screen with a celebratory animation that will play each time a student completes a round of REP.

Updated REP Alert Notification Details

Parents may now enable an 'REP Alert' notification. 'REP Alert' notifications will email parents each time there is an REP Alert. To enable 'REP Alert' notifications, click on your profile name on the top right side of the top menu and from the drop down menu select REP Activity Notifications.

From the 'REP Activity Notifications' place a check mark in the box next to the notification you would like to receive.

  • Receive REP Alert

This notification will email you when your child has not completed REP practice for the amount of days you designate. Enter your desired amount of days in the form field to the left of days.

  • Receive Monthly REP Summary

This notification will send you an email once each month with a summary of your child's REP activity.

  • Receive Milestone Updates

This notification will email you each time your child completes a particular milestone. To enable this notification, place a check mark in the box and then select either Each time my student finishes a round of playlists or Each time my student completes all 40 playlists for a unit.

Once you are satisfied with your selections, click on Save or Update Settings at the bottom of the page.

What's New in version 6.0 - GrapeSEED Parents

Parent Portal Home Page Updates

  • To add a child, click on the + Add Child button to the right of 'My Children'.
  • Access 'My Devices' by clicking on your account in the top right corner and selecting My Devices from the drop down menu.
  • Access 'REP' by clicking on REP in the page's header. This will open a drop down menu with a link to download the app and REP Online.
  • The help option is now called 'Contact Us' and can be accessed from the page header.
  • Student info now includes their gender and birthday.
  • The progress bar for student progress has been removed
  • There is no more expand/collapse option for student bands.
  • Children without a license or in their grace period will be listed in italics.
  • The Bulletin Board is now included in the right hand side bar.
    • The Bell icon displays the number of unread messages.
    • Click on the Bulletin Board icon to open the details.
  • You may now access fun activities and digital content for previous units as well as the current unit.

Progress Calender Updates

  • The calender now lets parents select a start date so they may see progress history from beyond the previous 30 days.
  • The start and end dates are now labeled within the calender.
  • Students will receive a smiley icon:
    • By day - When they complete REP practice for the day
    • By Month - based on the percentage of number of days the child completed REP practiced that month.
      • If a child practiced REP less than 30% of the time, the month is labeled with a plain face.
      • If a child practiced REP 30-80% of the time, the month is labeled with a smiley face.
      • If a child practiced REP 80% of the time or more, th month is labeled with an excited face.
