Teacher Training Platform

GrapeSEED's Teacher Training Platform is the online training platform for teachers. The content of the site offers supplementary training to teachers who may or may not have attended the Foundation Training. However, the content is not replacement for completing the Foundation Training.

The content is intended for teachers who:

  • wish to review concepts and ideas found in Foundation Training
  • were unable to attend the Foundation Training before teaching GrapeSEED

The content includes, but is not limited to:

  • GrapeSEED platforms and philosophies
  • Videos for teaching, REP, and more
  • Progression Training and ReadWrite Training

Dashboard

When a user with a ‘Teacher’ role logs into the Teacher Training Platform, the dashboard shows a welcome message, a search icon to search for a course, series, group, or lesson, and a list of courses.

First-time users can view an introductory video on the home page by clicking the ‘Click here’ link in 'Click here to see an intro video'.

Course

From the dashboard, click a course from the list of courses to open the 'Table of Contents' form that can be expanded to show course contents in a tree structure including the Version > Series > Group > Lessons and Questionnaires.

  • Click the 'Expand All' and 'Collapse All' links in the 'Table of Contents' header to quickly expand or hide the course contents.

  • Enter text in the Search bar to search for a specific lesson or questionnaire.

Lesson

To view a course lesson, click the lesson name in the 'Table of Contents'.

A small dialog box, including the lesson name, thumbs-up/down icons, and a Play button opens.

Click Play to start the lesson in the lesson player. If you previously started and exited the lesson, the Play button is replaced with a Continue Watching button you can click to start the lesson where you left off. If you previously finished watching a lesson, you can click Play Again to start the lesson over.

To rate the video, click the green thumbs-up icon if you liked it, or click the red thumbs-down icon if you did not like it.

Lesson Player

Clicking Play to start a lesson opens the lesson player.

  • On the left side of the screen, there is a resizable menu with breadcrumbs and a search box. The breadcrumbs include Home, Course, Series, and Group Details. Click one of these items to return home or to expand a group or list of lessons and questionnaires. Start typing in the search box to find a specific item.

  • The right side of the screen shows the lesson or questionnaire.

When a lesson is clicked, the lesson player opens and plays the video. When played at the ‘Series’ or ‘Group’ level, the lesson player starts from the beginning, or resumes from the last position.

The status bar at the bottom of the player has:

  • A Start/Pause button on the left.
  • Video length/current position information in the center.
  • An option to select the video quality.
  • An option to control the video volume. Set the volume level as desired and this becomes the default level used to play the selected video or other videos.
  • The right-most option is to view the video in full screen mode (press ESC key to return to the normal view.)

Once the lesson is finished playing, click the green thumbs-up icon if you liked it, or click the red thumbs-down icon if you did not like it. Click Play Next to play the next lesson or click Answer (Questionnaire Name) to start the questionnaire.

When a lesson is completed, a green tick mark appears next to the lesson name in the menu on the left side of the screen.

Questionnaire

Click a questionnaire name in the menu on the left side of the screen, or click Answer (Questionnaire Name) once a lesson is finished playing to start the questionnaire.

The questionnaire opens. Answer each question and click Done, or click Answer Later to complete the questionnaire at a later time.

In the questionnaire, correct answers turn green when selected and incorrect answers turn red.

Once the questionnaire is completed, a green tick mark appears next to the questionnaire name in the menu on the left side of the screen.

If a previously completed questionnaire is opened, you can re-answer the questions to complete it again, and the new score is saved.

Badges

Once a course is completed, a badge appears next to the course name in the course list on the dashboard of the Teacher Training Platform.

View earned badges by clicking the user avatar and selecting ‘Badges’. Badges appear in the order they have been collected, along with the name of the course/series.

An older badge is replaced with a new badge when an updated version of a previously viewed course is completed.
